The 2026 Dragon Arts Festival showcased the artistic talents of TCIS’s secondary school students. The festival included orchestra and choir, theater, and visual arts exhibitions.
The event was planned by visual arts teachers Mrs. April Ward and Ms. Annette Chough. In an interview, Mrs. Ward explained that the main goal of the festival was “to highlight the artistic talents of our secondary school students to the entire student body.”
The festival aimed to be accessible for everyone. “This festival provides an opportunity for all students to see what happens in the arts and be exposed to concerts and theatre performances they might not otherwise make time to attend,” Mrs. Ward said.

However, organizing the event came with challenges as April and May are particularly busy months at TCIS. Mrs. Ward explained that “we often have to share resources… which requires strong communication and careful planning.” Despite these difficulties, the team worked collaboratively and flexibly, by dedicating extra time on weekends to make sure everything was ready.
The music pieces were chosen by Dr. Kang and Mr. Warr, while the APAC Theatre group was invited to perform so that more students could experience their previous work. Visual art displays included a wide range of student work, from DP Art exhibitions to middle school projects. “We hope the festival provided a platform for students to showcase their talents, got students excited about the arts, and inspired others to get involved,” Mrs. Ward concluded.
